The Official Idea Thread
Basically the place where ideas can be suggested for the new software, a lot of which will more than likely be from me.

Here's a basic list of what I've thought so far:
- Bring forums back from being more about social networking to being forums again.
- Find a way to utilize the customization of vBulletin 3.8.x
- Find a way to utilize the bot/spam prevention software of IPB 3.2.x

That's it so far.

Also, would be awesome to have an easy skin creator.

@"- Bring forums back from being more about social networking to being forums again."
I agree. A forum will be a forum in this software.
@"- Find a way to utilize the customization of vBulletin 3.8.x"
Give me some examples of things that are custom? I'm going to make this software highly custom for users. (i.e., in profiles and preferences) and have maximum customisability for admins.
@"- Find a way to utilize the bot/spam prevention software of IPB 3.2.x"
Yeah, we're definitely going to need to make a LOT of bot protection, since we've had bad experiences with those here.
@"Also, would be awesome to have an easy skin creator."
Oh, don't worry, I've got an editor in production.

RE: The Official Idea Thread
Well in vBulletin users can:
- Create their own custom social groups and picture albums.
- They can also customize their profile font and font color, background and other misc profile features that can be checked off in the admin cp.
- Users can use bbcode in their custom usertitles.

Also, would be nice to have some forum of visitor messaging system like IPB 2.x.x and vBulletin 3.8.x had.

Ehh, this is sort of a maybe. I know what you're talking about, though.

Don't forget CSS in posts! I love that feature. This will be added.
@"- Users can use bbcode in their custom usertitles."
This will be easy to implement, I think.

Explain, please?

RE: The Official Idea Thread
Users could leave comments or messages on each other's profiles. I think IPB developed it more in the 3.x.x series before they converted it into a member status feature.

IPB 2.x.x wasn't as fun as the vB one though.

OH THAT.

Yeah, that's a pretty okay feature.

I might make that.

RE: The Official Idea Thread
I remember some users created codes to use it on IF and ZB, if I'm remembering correctly that is.

I can't think of anything else. Perhaps a built-in reputation or karma system?

RE: The Official Idea Thread
Possibly.

Maybe an arcade? But would the arcade be Silverlight, Flash, or HTML5/Canvas/WebGL? My personal preference is WebGL, but Flash has greater desktop penetration.
